The Heroes of CrossFit Dark Horse

Coach Vince, Charlie, Jameson, Thomas, Leo, Finn, and Chris. Marvel ain’t got nothing on these guys. Faster than Rich Froning’s “Fran”…able to coach the finer points of your squat while signing in the new guy with the click of a mouse…these Incredi-coaches guide you on your fitness journey, while keeping the trains clean, on the track, and running on time. They are the lifeblood of the box.

Merriam-Webster defines a coach as “a person who teaches and trains an athlete or performer,” but the truth is that we rely on them to be so much more. Yes, our coaches are trying to help you learn to move better, but they are also called upon to act as ambassadors, shrinks, teachers, cheerleaders, and sometimes (be honest), your mother – picking up your crap and putting it away after you’ve left the building.

We are fortunate at CrossFit Dark Horse to have a team of coaches who are passionate, fit, and funny. They bring decades of collective knowledge and experience into the box and share it with you each and every day. They combine the patience of Mother Theresa with your favorite P.E. teacher – the one who pushed you to keep trying until you finally made it to the top of that rope, or did that first pull up. They bring a positive attitude to class everyday, and have enough to share with you just in case you forgot to bring your own.

I want all of us to give a big shout out to the Heroes of CrossFit Dark Horse. These guys are at the core of our community.  We ask our coaches to understand you physically, mentally and emotionally – a tall order for someone who sees you only an hour each day. And yet our coaches make the effort, because they know that understanding these things will allow them to coach you more effectively, more intuitively, and therefore help you become a better athlete, and just maybe, a better human being.

At the end of the day, good coaching is a collaborative effort, and we have some of the best right here at CrossFit Dark Horse. If they bring their best, and you bring your best, together there is no limit to what you can achieve!

So next time you’re at the box be sure to give your coach a hug, a high-five, and a “Thanks Coach! You the best!” because these guys really are.
